Marbano Reserve Aligote Rkatsiteli

€29.95

Golden, textured and gloriously unconventional — this is a wine that bridges two worlds. A remarkable blend of Aligote, the classic European variety, and Rkatsiteli, one of Georgia's most ancient and celebrated native grapes, crafted together in traditional Qvevri buried in the volcanic soils of Bolnisi. The result is an amber wine of real depth and originality — a bottle that could only exist in Georgia, and only in the hands of a winemaker as bold and passionate as Marbano's Levan Bandzeladze.

Grape Variety A unique and distinctive blend of Aligote and Rkatsiteli — combining the bright, European character of Aligote with the structure, phenolic richness and ancient terroir expression of Rkatsiteli, one of Georgia's oldest and most widely planted native white grape varieties. Grown in the village of Samtredo in the Bolnisi region of Kartli.

Taste Profile Beautiful deep golden amber in the glass, with a rich and inviting nose of ripe pear and warm, complex phenolic depth. On the palate the wine is full and textured, with a firm tannic structure that gives it real presence and a long, satisfying finish. Rich, layered and unlike any orange wine you have tried before.

Craftsmanship Produced using the traditional Kakhetian Qvevri method — ancient Georgian clay vessels buried underground — this wine undergoes extended skin contact during fermentation, giving it its distinctive amber colour, tannic grip and extraordinary aromatic complexity. Crafted in small batches by award-winning Marbano Winery, whose wines are available in seven countries and have earned double gold medals at prestigious international competitions.

Serving Suggestions A wonderfully versatile food wine. Pairs beautifully with boiled chicken, fresh fish, roasted vegetables and aged cheeses. Best served at 12–14°C. Alcohol: 14% — 750ml.
